Independent Sexual Violence Advisor

(Supporting Adult Clients)

Salary £23,000 (FTE)

Part-time: 22hrs per week Fixed Term Contract

STARS-Dorset Rape Crisis is a specialist rape support centre supporting victims and survivors of rape and sexual abuse in Dorset. We have seen an increase in the number of referrals being received for our specialist support services which have grown rapidly over the past two years. We currently have a vacancy for a part-time ISVA to support adult clients for 22hrs a week worked over three days.

The successful candidate will provide practical and emotional support to clients aged 16 yrs and above who have experienced rape, sexual abuse or sexual exploitation at any time during their life. We are looking for a committed individual with initiative and zeal to join our experienced ISVA team. You must be experienced at supporting vulnerable clients and be able to work flexibly to meet our clients’ needs. Knowledge of the criminal justice service would be an advantage.

This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated frontline practitioner who has experience of supporting vulnerable and often complex individuals enabling them to move on in their lives following the disclosure of sexual violence. You will provide advocacy and support to our clients and, at times, to their families. Excellent communication skills with a working knowledge of safeguarding procedures and multi-agency work are essential, as is a commitment to working in a person-centred way. We are a pan-Dorset charity working across the county therefore this post will involve travel across Dorset and access to a suitable vehicle is essential with business insurance and a full driving licence.

Children & Young People Independent Sexual Violence Advisor

Salary £23,000 (FTE) Fixed Term Contract

STARS -Dorset Rape Crisis is the only specialist rape support centre supporting victims and survivors of rape and sexual abuse in Dorset. We have seen an increase in the number of referrals being received for our specialist support services which have grown rapidly over the past two years. We currently have a vacancy for a part-time Children and Young People (CYP) Independent Sexual Violence Advisor (ISVA) to work specifically with children and young people under the age of 18 throughout Dorset.

 

The successful candidate will provide practical, emotional and advocacy support to children and young people and their families, who have experienced any form of sexual violence and may have experienced significant trauma. Excellent communication skills with children and families and a working knowledge of safeguarding procedures are essential, as is a commitment to working in a child-centred way and in a multi-agency setting. Knowledge of data monitoring and reporting on service delivery is an important part of the role.

You will work as part of our existing CYP ISVA team and help to continue to develop the service across Dorset. Knowledge of the criminal justice system will be an advantage.
