Volunteer Volunteering roles Support Line Volunteer This role involves taking calls from those looking for confidential listening support, further information or referral to the centre. Skills and Qualifications Any relevant experience offering support to vulnerable groups is preferential but not essential. Good listening skills and good interpersonal skills. Time Commitment Two 2 hour duties a month on the helpline and attend one monthly 2 hour supervision session. Training Training will be provided and an induction where you will learn more about our history, our work and the role. Support Line Volunteers must be able to complete three sessions of sexual violence awareness training. Our Support Line Listener Training 'Working with Complex Trauma – Listener Induction' is CPCAB approved. If at the end of the training we, and you, still feel this is the right role for you you will be paired with a Mentor who will work alongside you for the first three months. Additional Information All our Support Line Volunteers undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. The Support Line currently runs a the following times Monday 1pm - 3pm, Tuesday 1pm - 3pm, Wednesday and Thursday, 7.30pm - 9.30pm, Friday 1pm - 3pm.
